… first baby, Camila, and using our spare bedroom as an office to accommodate working from home. We were on the house hunt for several months and could
not find a house in this crazy market and decided to look for empty lots or fixer-uppers to build our forever home. We ultimately found a fixer-upper
in our favorite location and got the property after a bidding war. We sold our home relatively fast and ended up moving into Daniella’s parents’
house with our daughter and dog while we designed our dream house with our architect, had our plans approved by the County, and worked on financing to
help make our dreams a reality.
We began working with a competitor on a construction loan about six months ago. After going through the entire process, almost up until closing, we
were very discouraged by their communication and delivery as loan terms changed and promises were unfulfilled. At the time, working with Amerant
Mortgage was not a possibility as the construction loan program was not fully deployed yet. Still, I constantly stayed in touch with the Amerant
Mortgage team, hoping that the program would ultimately become available. Luckily for us, the program ended up being rolled out in November, and we
all decided to take a risk on a very new and unknown process. We put all of our trust in the Amerant Mortgage team in the hopes that they could help
us complete what the competitor couldn’t, and the team worked diligently over the course of 2 months to make up for all of the lost time the
competitor cost us. It felt like we were their top priority throughout the process and as if the entire team was working collectively on our loan
together. The communication with Amerant Mortgage was consistently clear throughout, and they delivered as promised.
We can’t express our gratitude enough to the Amerant Mortgage Team and how they were able to assist us to close our loan smoothly and as quickly as
possible. We are forever grateful to the team for helping us get started in building our dream and forever home.
